Isaiah 41:1-20

Picture the different ways people use their hands to help someone who is afraid: an arm around the shoulder, two hands holding another’s hands firmly and compassionately, a hand outstretched to grasp the other’s hand or shoulder, an open hand offering needed food or money, a hand leading another through darkness or danger, arms sweeping underneath someone to lift them up and carry them to safety. hands are wonderful tools for dispelling fear!

Isaiah uses the image of a hand to strengthen and to show his deep care for us. Isaiah 41 verse 10: Fear not, for i am with you, be nor dismayed, for i am your God; i will strengthen you, i will help you, i will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Not only will God help us in our times of fear but he will also strengthen and uphold us during these troubling times, all we have to do is to look upon him and trust him. Not only will he help us in our times of need but he will also strengthen us to help others who might be afraid of the future.
