Focus Zimbabwe Southern Region covers all tertiary and institutions in Bulawayo and surrounding areas like Esigodini, Gwanda and Lupane. These institutions include Zimbawe School of Mines, Bulawayo Polytechnic, Hillside Teachers College, National University of Science and Technology, Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic, Esigodini College of Agriculture and Lupane State University.
In Southern Region there are two full time apprentices.
As a region under God we seek to see students grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus so that they wont be tossed by every wind of false doctrine. We seek to achieve this through proclaiming Jesus Christ at every opportunity and in various ways. Our one to one Bible reading with students, Bible studies, training seminars and Christian Union services will be aimed at proclaiming Jesus Christ.
Our major activities
Bible studies
We run weekly Bible studies on campuses where students sit together with fellow students, reading, interpreting, and applying God’s word into their own lives. This is very important to our ministry as we proclaim Christ, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.
One to one Bible readings
Our staff workers meets up with students on one to one Bible reading and prayer. The priority is given to those who are keen and interested to reading the Bible once and week with our staff worker. These one to one Bible reading meetings have been of huge help to many students. There are also very important to us as we seek to disciple students and ultimately recruit some for our apprenticeship program.
Evangelism on campuses
On weekly basis we do walk up evangelism with students by doing so we seek to help our students see our need to fulfil the great commission by reaching their fellow students with the gospel. By doing so we are also training them on how to share the gospel with the lost.
Annual events
Mid-Year Conference- in June/July we run a weekend away conference with student which includes all colleges and universities we work on. The MYC is very important as we seek teach the gospel and challenge students to seriously consider the implications of the gospel to us, hence every year we invite sound teacher and preachers to be speak on our conferences
National Conference- in September/October we send our students to the national conference that brings all students from all over the country for fellowship and training.
